Compression Springs

Among the most common type of springs, compression springs resemble a coiled wire and are designed to resist pushing or compressive forces acting along their length. As the name suggests, they compress when a force is applied, and then exert a pushing force to return to their original shape when the force is removed.

Tension Springs

Also known as extension springs, these counteract pulling or tensile forces. They have a similar helical design to compression springs, but with hooks or loops on the ends for attachment. When pulled, they elongate and store energy, then pull back to their original length when released.

Torsion Springs

Unlike the previous two, these springs resist twisting forces (torque). They are typically helical in shape with bends or loops at each end, designed to rotate around a central axis. When twisted in one direction, they store energy and exert torque trying to return to their original position.

Coke Oven Springs

Within coke oven batteries, strategically placed springs play a critical role in mitigating the immense thermal expansion and contraction the walls experience during the coking process. These heavy-duty springs, constructed from high-temperature resistant materials, absorb these dimensional changes, safeguarding the oven structure from damage and ensuring consistent performance throughout operation.

Furnace Springs

In industrial furnaces, versatile springs serve multiple purposes. They can act as door seals, ensuring minimal heat loss and maximising fuel efficiency. Similar to their role in coke ovens, they function as expansion joints, accommodating thermal expansion within the furnace walls. Additionally, these springs can provide crucial structural support for various furnace components exposed to extreme temperatures.

Railway Bogie Springs

These specialised springs function as the silent guardians of the rails, mitigating the dynamic forces encountered during train operation and ensuring a safe and comfortable journey.

Vibration Screens and Feeder Springs

Integral to the material handling process alongside vibration screens, feeder springs play a critical role in material control. These strategically positioned helical compression springs provide the precise force needed to regulate the flow of material onto the vibrating screen. This controlled flow rate not only prevents overloading but also ensures optimal screening efficiency. Additionally, feeder springs contribute to a consistent distribution of material across the screen surface, further enhancing the accuracy of the separation process.
